Veteran Spotlight: Justin Cook

Veteran Spotlight Cook

Justin Cook cares deeply about serving veterans and brings extensive knowledge and experience to our most complex cyber challenges.

Chief Master Sergeant Justin Cook began his time in the Air Force in 1998 as an Avionics Integrated Systems Apprentice. His career then expanded into becoming a Cyber System Network Apprentice, later being selected for cross-training to Communication Computer Systems Operation, and four years later was selected for a special duty assignment as a Military Training Instructor.

CMSgt Cook was then assigned to Kunsan AB, Republic of Korea where he served as the Operations Flight Superintendent during one of the most politically charged times in the last 60 years.

Before retiring from the military, Chief Master Sergeant Cook served as the Senior Enlisted Leader, the Directorate of Communications, United States Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. In this role, Chief Cook was a key advisor to Division leadership responsible for managing a $60 million contract, overseeing 835 personnel executing global operations and maintenance of the Special Operations Forces Information Environment.

Now, CMSgt Cook serves at RedSky as the Director of Strategic Growth and Technology.

“Since I have been at Team RedSky… I have developed many relationships with the government and other contractors to get Team RedSKy into that space just a little more than we were a few months ago,” he said.

Chief Cook’s primary focus in his role is to develop relationships and provide solutions to support customers at SOCOM and CENTCOM, as well as other agencies. Fueled by his love for the work, Chief Cook aims to create the best environment for those he leads to do their work to the very best of their ability.

In his free time, Chief Cook is very involved in working with and helping Veterans through training and education as they transition out of service and into civilian life. He is also excited about his increased involvement with service dogs in the near future through RedSky’s partnership with America’s Vet Dogs!

Chief Cook said he is grateful for the way that RedSky allows him to use many of the skills he developed while in uniform to continue to serve the mission and community he so deeply cares for.

We are so grateful for Chief Cook and invite you to join us in celebrating his work!
